MP Criticizes Lack of Will to Approve Salary Scale
MP Mohammed Abu Al-Eis revealed on Friday the absence of genuine will to approve the salary scale, urging political blocs to prioritize the interests of Iraqis above all. Abu Al-Eis stated that "his slogan is to proceed with the salary scale," noting that "the salary scale saves the poor and employees with limited income and achieves social justice." He added that "justice must prevail in all state sectors; it is unacceptable for one employee to earn over 10 million while another receives only 170 thousand," pointing out that "many citizens are deprived of healthcare and housing despite having rights and striving to live with dignity." He affirmed that "the salary scale upholds the dignity of citizens," calling on the Prime Minister to "complete the study and implementation of the salary scale." He emphasized that "there is no real political will regarding the salary scale," urging the coordination framework and the Sunni and Kurdish components to put Iraqis’ interests above all. He noted that "many employees earn low salaries that prevent them from getting married," highlighting that "the salary scale law is currently in the Cabinet and ready for voting in Parliament."
