Xi Presents Vision to Boost AI in BRICS

Chinese President Xi Jinping on Sunday presented a vision to bolster artificial intelligence cooperation within the "BRICS" bloc. Xi urged the creation of an open-source technology community amid fierce global competition with the United States. At the BRICS summit in New Delhi, Xi announced China would spearhead an open-source AI "community." This will involve collaboration on developing and implementing large language models, alongside organizing seminars and training for member states. He also invited BRICS nations to join the "Global Organization for AI Cooperation," founded by Beijing and comprising about 30 countries. Xi underscored the necessity of openness and cooperation in sharing AI resources.
