US Chargé d'Affaires Affirms Success of Iraqi Delegation's Washington Visit, Stresses Enhanced Joint Cooperation
Stephen Fagin, the U.S. Chargé d'Affaires to Iraq, described the Iraqi government delegation's visit to Washington last July as "very successful." This statement came during his reception today, Saturday, by Iraqi Finance Minister Faleh Sari. The two parties discussed bilateral relations and explored ways to enhance economic and financial cooperation between the two countries. The Minister affirmed during the meeting that Iraq's foreign policy is guided by the country's supreme interests, underscoring the Iraqi government's commitment to building balanced relations with the United States based on mutual benefits. He also urged American companies operating in the oil and energy sectors to accelerate the implementation of their projects in Iraq, aiming to support foreign investments and develop vital sectors. For his part, the U.S. Chargé d'Affaires emphasized the importance of capitalizing on and building upon the outcomes of the recent visit, which contributes to strengthening cooperation pathways between Iraq and the United States.
