US Central Command redirected hundred commercial vessels since imposing naval blockade Iran

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that its forces have redirected more than 100 commercial vessels as part of the implementation of the naval blockade on Iran.

It indicated in a statement that US forces began implementing the blockade on April 13, against commercial ships entering and leaving Iranian ports, in execution of President Donald Trump's decision.

It mentioned that during the past six weeks, more than 15,000 soldiers, sailors, marines, and air force personnel redirected 100 ships, disabled four ships, and allowed the passage of 26 humanitarian aid ships.

The Commander of the US Central Command, Admiral Brad Cooper, said, "Our force members are performing exceptional work. They are executing their mission with great effectiveness, precision, and professionalism, leading to a complete halt of trade to and from Iranian ports, which has exerted economic pressure on Iran."

Cooper pointed out that more than 200 US aircraft and warships are participating in the mission, including the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln group, the aircraft carrier USS George H.W. Bush group, the Tripoli amphibious ready group, and the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, alongside a number of guided-missile destroyers.

The Central Command indicated that the blockade is imposed on ships belonging to all countries entering or leaving Iranian ports and coastal areas, including all Iranian ports on the Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
