Jordan Reveals New Details on Karak Church Attack
Jordan's Interior Minister Mazen Faraya announced on Monday that investigations have not revealed any links between the perpetrators of the Karak church attack and other cells, confirming that the attackers belong to the same family, including two brothers. During a press conference in Amman, Faraya stated that security forces have arrested the suspects, while Public Security Director Obeid Allah Al-Maaytah reported the capture of three individuals following an armed clash, along with the seizure of weapons and a large quantity of ammunition. Al-Maaytah explained that the security operation came after three days of sweeping efforts, culminating in the raid of a suspicious building and the arrest of the suspects, who were injured during the confrontation and transferred to the hospital. Faraya emphasized that investigations are ongoing to clarify the circumstances of the crime and hold all responsible parties accountable, affirming the state's continued efforts to combat extremism and terrorism.
