Bezhikian Affirms Iran's Readiness to Boost Regional Cooperation
Iranian President Masoud Bezhikian confirmed on Monday his country's support for any agreement that contributes to enhancing security and stability in the region, announcing Iran's readiness to take steps toward regional cooperation and dispute resolution. During his meeting with representatives of the Makkah Alliance countries, Bezhikian pointed out that the unity of Islamic countries and coordination of their positions represent an important step toward strengthening regional cohesion. The delegation includes Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman, Pakistani Army Chief Asim Munir, and Turkish Intelligence Chief Ibrahim Kalin. Saudi Arabia stated that the delegation's visit is part of efforts to reduce escalation and encourage dialogue and diplomatic solutions, while the Iranian Foreign Ministry viewed the meeting as a potential first step toward establishing regional security mechanisms. These moves come amid rising tensions between Washington and Tehran, following statements by U.S. President Donald Trump about the possibility of a new military operation against Iran.
