Turkey Arrests 51 Daesh Suspects in Simultaneous Raids Across 16 Provinces

A large-scale security crackdown conducted by Turkish authorities led to the apprehension of 51 suspects linked to the Daesh group, following simultaneous raids executed across 16 provinces nationwide. The Turkish Ministry of Interior confirmed that the coordinated operations were directed jointly by public prosecution offices and the Anti-Terrorism Department of the General Gendarmerie Command. The sweeps targeted locations in Adana, Adiyaman, Balikesir, Bursa, Diyarbakir, Duzce, Edirne, Gaziantep, Igdir, Kayseri, Mardin, Mersin, Nevsehir, Sinop, Sanliurfa, and Zonguldak. Official findings revealed that the detainees were active members of the organization, with some providing financial funding through entities masked as alleged relief societies, while others propagated extremist messaging via social media platforms. The ministry reiterated its determination to relentlessly dismantle the group's network and disrupt its financial logistics, without disclosing the nationalities, exact roles, or any confiscation of weapons and cash during these arrests. These actions follow earlier crackdowns, including the detention of 83 suspects across 28 provinces on September 25 with confiscated digital materials, and the arrest of six individuals in Istanbul on September 29, where 13,000 dollars were seized after financial crimes investigators tracked suspicious wire transfers.
