Trump arrives in Beijing

US President Donald Trump arrived in the Chinese capital, Beijing, in the first visit by a US president to China since 2017, accompanied by a large delegation of officials and CEOs. Trump posted on the "Truth Social" platform while heading to Beijing that the "first request" he would present to Xi during the visit would be asking the Chinese leader to enhance the presence of US companies in China. He said: "I will ask President Xi, an extraordinary leader, to open China so these brilliant companies can demonstrate their capabilities and help lift the People's Republic of China to a higher level."
