Tehran responds Washington paper draft focusing settlement frameworks
ISNA news agency reported that Tehran is preparing its response to Washington's paper in a draft focusing on framework provisions and confidence-building steps, amid Pakistani efforts to adopt a memorandum of understanding between Washington and Tehran.
The sources indicated that the Iranian draft focuses on general framework provisions and fine details.
The agency's report stated: "Iran is preparing a response to the text sent by the United States, while the Iranian text focuses on general framework provisions, details, as well as confidence-building steps as guarantees for respecting any potential agreement."
ISNA pointed out that the visit of Pakistani Army Chief Asim Munir to Tehran, on Thursday, aims to bridge viewpoints and pave the way for adopting a memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran. However, the agency noted at the same time that overcoming differences requires Washington to abandon its military aspirations.
Earlier, the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs had announced that Tehran is studying Washington's comments on the potential text of the agreement, confirming that the two sides are exchanging comments based on the 14-point Iranian proposals.
Sources and officials also said, days ago, that the United States and Iran are close to reaching a limited and temporary agreement to stop the war between them through a draft framework that would halt fighting without resolving core issues.
