Police Reveal Cause of Actress Hayden Panettiere's Death After Thorough Investigation
The South Carolina police have concluded their investigation into the death of American actress Hayden Panettiere, who passed away on August 16 inside a rented apartment in Greenville. The death was classified as accidental, caused by the toxic effects of multiple substances. The 36-year-old actress was found unconscious on a couch in the apartment, with her former boyfriend and his brother present. The medical examiner's report confirmed that the cause of death was due to the toxic effects of substances including fentanyl, 4-ANPP, alprazolam, methocarbamol, and quetiapine, with no physical injuries contributing to the death. Fentanyl is a highly potent opioid, approximately 50 times stronger than heroin, and even small amounts can cause a fatal overdose. The compound 4-ANPP is a key chemical used in the illicit manufacture of fentanyl. Alprazolam, commercially known as Xanax, is prescribed for anxiety disorders and panic attacks, methocarbamol is a muscle relaxant prescribed for short-term muscle pain, and quetiapine is used to treat schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and severe depression. Investigations revealed that one of the brothers attempted to save her by administering two doses of Narcan, a medication used to reverse opioid overdoses, before calling emergency services and initiating CPR. Despite these efforts, she was pronounced dead at 2:32 PM. Drugs suspected to be narcotics, prescription medications, and paraphernalia related to drug use were found inside the apartment. The case was administratively closed after the death was ruled accidental. Prior to her death, the actress had undergone treatment at a rehabilitation center in Malibu. Her father stated that her struggles with addiction began in her early twenties and worsened following postpartum depression. Hayden Panettiere, known for her roles in the series "Heroes" and "Nashville," left behind her 11-year-old daughter Kaya, who lives primarily with her father in Europe following her parents' separation. A private memorial service was held in Malibu, attended by family, friends, and colleagues from the entertainment industry.
