Pezeshkian Current situation Strait Hormuz resulted illegal attacks by aggressors

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized today, Saturday, that current developments in the Strait of Hormuz resulted from "illegal attacks launched by the aggressors, alongside using territories and airspace of some Gulf countries to launch attacks against Iran," stressing that maritime traffic will return to normal as soon as the security tension status ends.

Pezeshkian's statements came within a letter he addressed to the Pope of the Vatican, Leo XIV, expressing his gratitude for the Vatican's positions towards the recent US attack on Iran, calling on the international community to adopt a "realistic and fair approach" in facing what he described as "illegal and dangerous" US demands and policies.

The Iranian presidency said in a statement that Pezeshkian confirmed in his letter to the Pope that America and Israel carried out "an illegitimate aggression" against Iran during the current negotiations period, considering that these attacks targeted international law and human values, not just Iran, according to the Iranian "Tasnim" news agency.

Pezeshkian said in his letter: "The US President made dangerous and insolent statements saying 'he intends to destroy Iran's historical civilization and return it to the Stone Age,' and these statements, as you indicated, stem from the illusion of absolute power and are based on arrogance, bullying, greed, and attempting to resolve conflicts through unbridled violence, which the human conscience fails to comprehend and bear."
