Parliamentary Finance Committee Aims to Add New Job Positions in 2027 Budget
The Parliamentary Finance Committee confirmed its support for stabilizing wages and contracts and providing job opportunities for youth, noting that the financial allocations and the number of beneficiaries have not yet been submitted to the Parliament. Committee member Ghufran Al-Shammari explained that the government has not yet provided details regarding the mechanism for stabilizing wages and contracts within the 2027 budget. Initially, discussions mentioned 100,000 job positions, while the Prime Minister referred to 120,000, but the financial allocations and their distribution by specialties have not been presented yet. She added that the committee cannot specify the actual numbers of those included before receiving the budget details. Al-Shammari pointed out that the committee’s vision focuses on supporting citizens and providing job opportunities for youth, especially long-time graduates and holders of higher degrees, as well as specialties needed by institutions as a workforce. She affirmed that the Finance Committee encourages this approach and seeks to add more job positions if the budget allocations permit.
