Oil tanker explosion in Strait of Hormuz

The Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced on Saturday that an oil tanker suffered an explosion and caught fire after colliding with a marine mine while crossing the Strait of Hormuz. The Revolutionary Guard explained that the vessel was carrying a massive shipment of crude oil, noting that it crossed the aforementioned waterway illegally through a route not officially authorized by Iran.
