North Korea Successfully Tests Cluster Warhead for Tactical Missiles
The Central News Agency reported that Pyongyang successfully conducted a test of a cluster warhead designed for tactical ballistic missiles to assess its destructive power. The agency stated that the missile authority carried out the test on October 31 to evaluate the suitability and strength of the warhead designed for these missiles. Field trials focused on measuring the destructive capability and the warhead's appropriateness for complex military operations. The statement indicated that the warhead, of the standard "Type 2" model, is capable of striking targets spread over an area ranging from 12 to 13 hectares, enhancing the country's military deterrence against threats. Recently, North Korea has been focusing on developing tactical ballistic missiles, which are short- and medium-range missiles characterized by high accuracy and speed in targeting. This test comes as part of ongoing efforts to advance the missile arsenal and diversify the types of munitions used.
