Iran: Tehran demands radical reform UN structure
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi stated today, Friday, on the second day of the BRICS foreign ministers' meeting, that his country "demands a radical reform of the UN structure, in a way that leads to a fair distribution of power, not just formal changes," as he put it.
Araqchi added in press statements: "The Security Council should represent all regions and continents of the world, not exclusively serve the interests of a certain group of countries."
He added: "Sanctions have today become a weapon that destroys basic human rights."
The Iranian Foreign Minister continued: "Iran emphasizes that combating economic terrorism, i.e., unilateral sanctions, is the most important task for BRICS countries."
