Iran Declares State of War and Warns of Possible Escalation

The Iranian government spokesperson, Fatemeh Mohajerani, announced that Iran is currently in a state of war, emphasizing that all possibilities remain open under these circumstances. This statement came in response to a question about the potential for renewed escalation. She stressed that, from Tehran’s perspective, the United States is no longer in the same position as before, highlighting that "everything is possible in the world of war." Mohajerani explained that the opposing side has recognized Iran’s capabilities and the determination of its people to endure during the confrontations. These remarks come amid ongoing tensions between Tehran and Washington, despite continuous diplomatic efforts between the two parties. Earlier, Iran had proposed reopening the Strait of Hormuz and resuming negotiations to reach a final agreement, but the U.S. president rejected this proposal. Nonetheless, he expressed expectations that talks with Iran would continue. Iran presented this diplomatic initiative during the United Nations General Assembly in New York, stating that it was submitted to the U.S. side through Qatari intermediaries, asserting that the move could lead to reopening the Strait of Hormuz and ending hostilities in the region within seven days.
