China Launches First School to Train Humanoid Robots in Skills

Hangzhou city in China's Zhejiang province has inaugurated the nation's first specialized school dedicated to training humanoid robots and developing their capabilities. The school officially commenced operations by welcoming its inaugural batch of 30 humanoid robots, which will undergo specialized professional training programs covering diverse fields, including artistic performance, security services, healthcare, and sports activities. Project supervisors clarified that each robot is equipped with a sophisticated computing unit, dubbed the "Infinite Brain," specifically engineered to boost image processing, autonomous positioning, and logical reasoning abilities. Before commencing training, each robot undergoes a comprehensive examination covering mechanical performance, system integrity, and software compatibility, prior to being classified into specialized educational tracks. The school's training programs are divided into four main specializations: Technical, Healthcare, Arts, and Sports. These tracks aim to elevate robots' performance in real-world work environments, including public facilities, hospitals, and various service sectors. For instance, robots with artistic capabilities receive intensive training to refine movement and kinetic expression skills for more realistic performances, while robots designated for guidance and service focus on improving communication and effective interaction skills with humans. The school aspires to award recognized professional certificates to robots that successfully pass the final evaluation, thereby qualifying them for actual jobs within the industry, service, and logistics sectors. Project organizers hope this novel model will contribute to transforming robots from mere experimental tools into an intelligent workforce capable of performing complex tasks with high efficiency levels. Hangzhou is considered a leading technological hub in China, home to a significant number of companies specializing in advanced artificial intelligence and robotics. The inauguration of this specialized school further solidifies the city's position as a key testing and development platform for AI applications in daily life and the industrial sector. This project represents a fundamental shift in the perception of robots, transforming them from mere machines operating in limited environments into systems capable of continuous learning and development.
