Apple Unveils Advanced iPad Mini with Enhanced Design

Apple has announced a new iPad mini model, describing it as the most significant update in the history of this small tablet series. The device retains its compact design but features a larger screen, a more powerful processing platform, upgraded cameras, and enhanced artificial intelligence capabilities. It boasts an 8.5-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display with thin bezels, a contrast ratio of 2,000,000:1, support for P3 color gamut, brightness up to 1200 nits, and a special nano-coating to reduce glare. Powered by the A20 Pro chip manufactured using 2-nanometer technology—the same used in the iPhone 18 Pro series—the CPU performance is reported to be up to 60% faster than the previous iPad mini generation, while graphics performance has increased by up to 2.7 times. Each graphics processing unit includes a dedicated neural accelerator to speed up AI tasks, with performance improvements in these tasks reaching up to 4.5 times. The tablet features a 12-megapixel front camera supporting Center Stage, which keeps the user automatically centered during video calls, and a 12-megapixel rear camera capable of recording 4K video at 60 frames per second. It runs on iPadOS 27, which includes enhanced Apple Intelligence features and the AI-powered Siri voice assistant. The device is compatible with the Apple Pencil Pro and Apple Pencil, and some models offer eSIM technology for cellular connectivity. Pre-orders began on October 28 in 36 countries, including the United States, with deliveries expected to start on November 6.
