Al Awady Responds to Ramadan with a Message Blending Competition and Friendship
Actor Ahmed Al Awady did not delay in responding to a message from his colleague Mohamed Ramadan following a period of rivalry and tension between them. Just an hour after Ramadan's message on Tuesday, Al Awady replied with a message that carried a spirit of competition wrapped in friendship, saying: "Star Mohamed Ramadan, we are brothers and friends.. no one is bigger than the other." Responding to Ramadan's statement "You are older than me," Al Awady clarified: "You are indeed younger than me by a year and a half.. but you are dear to me," adding: "You have more works.. and I am big in my love for simple people whom I thank very much for your appreciation of them in your post because they are the reason for our existence." Al Awady referred to igniting a spirit of fair competition, saying: "I wish you a strong comeback in your new series after a 3-year absence.. your presence this year made me very happy." He justified his ambiguous posts during the past period by saying: "God is my witness that my words are true so that the spirit of fair competition ignites for the benefit of our viewers.. and I will take a promise from you to be present every year." Responding to Ramadan's invitation to watch an episode of his series together during Ramadan, he said: "I invite you to watch the first episode of 'Sultan Al-Deeb' in Ain Shams, my hometown.. and celebrate the success of your brother and friend," referring to the popular district he hails from. Social media users widely engaged with the messages exchanged between the two stars today, with many considering it a positive step to end any disputes and promote honorable artistic competition, while others believed the messages intensified the rivalry and reflected both parties' determination to assert their stardom. Earlier today, Mohamed Ramadan sent a direct message to Ahmed Al Awady in a post stating: "You are indeed older than me in age.. but I took the lead in starring roles before you.. so in age, you are my elder brother, and in leading roles, I am your elder brother wishing you success." Ramadan concluded his message with a positive initiative, saying: "May your series break records.. and God willing, we will watch an episode together in Ramadan 2027." The rivalry began with ambiguous posts last October, when both actors posted messages on Facebook hinting at the characters "Ashmawy" and "Sultan Al-Deeb," linked to two dramas preparing to compete in Ramadan 2027. Ramadan wrote: "Three years everyone did their part.. now shhh Ashmawy is coming," with the hashtag "Ramadan Unites Us 2027," referring to his anticipated return to television drama after being absent since the 2023 series "Jaafar Al-Omda." In contrast, Al Awady posted: "The place you are returning to, we have left our mark on it," signing off with "Sultan Al-Deeb," the character he will portray in his new series set for Ramadan 2027, igniting indirect competition between the two stars.
