Ahmed El Fishawy on Mother's Death Shock and Struggle with Suicidal Thoughts

Egyptian actor Ahmed El Fishawy has revealed the extent of psychological and professional suffering he has endured since the passing of his mother, the late actress Sumia El Alfy. El Fishawy stated that he remains under the shock of her loss, expressing an internal struggle to cope with her absence and adapt to his daily life. In his latest media appearance on the "Unwritten Stories" program, El Fishawy spoke frankly about the difficult period he is experiencing, stating that he is "trying to deal with life and resisting suicidal thoughts" that accompany him following his mother's death. He emphasized that the shock is profound and still fresh, noting his serious attempts to deal with it gradually. El Fishawy added that the impact was not limited to his psychological state but also extended to his artistic career. His enthusiasm for acting has significantly diminished since her death, after arts had been an integral part of his existence. It is noteworthy that actress Sumia El Alfy passed away on December 20, 2025, at the age of 72, following a deterioration in her health after a long struggle with illness. El Alfy was married to the late actor Farouk El Fishawy and gave birth to actor Ahmed El Fishawy and his brother Omar.
