Yasser Skhail Nominated for Interior Minister Post
Othman al-Shaibani, a representative from the State of Law coalition, announced on Tuesday the nomination of Yasser Skhail, head of the Al-Bashaer movement and a coalition leader, for the Interior Minister post. Shaibani stated a trend exists within the Coordination Framework and other political forces to select a civilian for the Interior Ministry. He clarified the nomination aligns with a political approach to push bloc leaders and figures into executive positions. The aim, he added, is to ensure direct accountability for choices made by these forces and parties. Al-Shaibani affirmed Skhail possesses security expertise, having overseen equipping weapons and military units for years during the anti-terrorism war. He also noted Skhail served as a special official to the Prime Minister for seven years.
