Reconstruction and Development Bloc Returns to Parliament Sessions Following Referral of MP Al-Kilabi to Disciplinary Committee

The Reconstruction and Development parliamentary bloc announced on Tuesday its decision to resume attending parliamentary sessions after a period of boycott. The bloc stated that the decision to return followed the Speaker's approval to refer MP Yusuf Al-Kilabi to the Ethics and Discipline Committee to take legal measures against him, due to what the bloc described as his transgression against the head of their coalition, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, inside the parliamentary chamber. Previously, the bloc had suspended its attendance at parliamentary sessions, emphasizing that it would not resume participation until actions were taken against those violating parliamentary work principles and political norms. The decision to return comes after the parliamentary leadership responded to the bloc's demand and referred the case to the Ethics and Discipline Committee to proceed with the appropriate legal procedures.
