US Company Launches "Twitter.now" Platform Aiming to Revive "Twitter" Name After "X" Rebranding

Operation Bluebird, a U.S.-based startup located in Virginia, announced on Monday the launch of its new social network named "Twitter.now". The company aims to revive the "Twitter" name and logo, which it claims were abandoned following the transformation of the "X" platform. Stephen Coates, a co-founder of Operation Bluebird, told the technology news website Ars Technica: "We are a small company, we have investors, and we have a product. We've waited many months to launch it, and we won't wait any longer." Coates and his partners believe, according to earlier reports, that the "Twitter" identity and trademark intellectual property were effectively abandoned when Elon Musk acquired the company in 2022 and subsequently changed its name to "X". However, this move has not been without challenges. Musk's "X" corporation filed a lawsuit against Operation Bluebird late last year, seeking a preliminary injunction from a federal judge in Delaware to prevent the launch of this new version of "Twitter."
