Rami Imam clarifies reality behind documentary about father

Egyptian director Rami Imam clarified the reality behind producing an artistic work addressing the biography of his prominent father, artist Adel Imam, explaining that the proposal remains within the framework of gathering information and preliminary preparations, and no final decision has been made to officially execute it yet. Rami Imam stated during remarks made on the sidelines of the El Gouna Film Festival opening ceremony on Saturday evening that documenting his father's biography is a possible step, though it is still limited to being an idea under study, pointing out that launching a project of this scale requires lengthy preparations and precise collection of data and details related to the leader's life and rich artistic career. He added, explaining that the matter is not yet definitively confirmed, emphasizing their sincere desire to gather sufficient data to produce a documentary film reviewing the life of Adel Imam, and affirming that this endeavor does not happen overnight but rather takes a long time and continuous preparations requiring the gradual accumulation of information. The director noted that documenting the leader's life requires multiple stages of investigation and preparation, allowing for the creation of a documentary experience that highlights personal and artistic aspects of his career spanning decades during which he left a profound impact in the fields of cinema, theater, and television. In the same context, Rami Imam did not disclose any specific timeframe for initiating the project or its final features, stressing that the idea has not yet elevated to the level of an official decision amidst the ongoing operations of gathering information and discussing optimal presentation mechanisms. On the other hand, Rami Imam touched upon the fabricated image recently circulated of his veteran artist father across social media platforms as his latest appearance, which later turned out to have no connection to the leader and was generated using artificial intelligence technologies. Rami Imam mentioned during the festival that artificial intelligence technologies have witnessed tremendous development, resembling the internet in terms of potential positive and negative usage, affirming that the family has become accustomed to such matters. It is worth noting that the last appearance of leader Adel Imam dates back to July of last year, on the occasion of the wedding of his grandson Adel, son of director Rami Imam. Artist Adel Imam appeared back then in a family snapshot encompassing his family, flanked by the bride and groom little Adel and Farida, alongside the leader's wife, while the rest of the family members appeared in the background. As for the image circulated recently, it did not belong to the leader at all, but rather belonged to Indian screenwriter Salim Khan, father of artist Salman Khan, following his participation in a family event in Mumbai, where his features underwent digital modifications that brought the resemblance closer between him and the Egyptian artist, sparking widespread interaction among the public and followers.
