Prime Minister Stresses State Authority, Anti-Corruption on 1920 Revolution Anniversary

Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi affirmed on Tuesday the government's commitment to continuing efforts to consolidate state authority and combat corruption. This came in a statement issued by him on the occasion of the 106th anniversary of the immortal 1920 Revolution. Al-Zaidi clarified that this revolution represents a major national epic that constituted a pivotal station in Iraq's history. It effectively contributed to shaping the features of the modern state, reinforcing the country's independence and its standing among nations. He stressed that the 1920 Revolution embodied the will and unity of Iraqis, as the people from all their spectrums rose to defend the nation's glory and dignity, relying on the national stances of the religious authority and its blessed fatwas, which ignited the spirit of resistance and entrenched the concept of national sovereignty. Al-Zaidi concluded his statement by renewing his pledge to continue working diligently and sincerely to build a strong and stable Iraq, establish the rule of law, combat corruption in all its forms, and achieve development and prosperity, with the aim of ensuring a dignified life for the Iraqi people.
