Prime Minister Directs Acceleration of "One Million Residential Plots" Initiative Procedures and Implementation
Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi directed on Monday the swift completion of procedures related to the "One Million Residential Land Plots" initiative and its immediate implementation. Al-Zaidi had chaired a meeting of the Supreme Committee for the initiative, convened to monitor the project's implementation phases and the progress achieved across all governorates. The initiative aims to distribute residential lands among families who do not own property or land, thereby addressing the housing crisis and providing suitable living requirements for citizens. The Prime Minister emphasized the significant importance of the project in securing adequate housing, commending the level of achievement in land segregation and allocation. Al-Zaidi also praised the exceptional efforts exerted by the Steering Committee and other relevant committees, as well as the active cooperation demonstrated by governors, which contributed to tangible progress within a short timeframe. Al-Zaidi reviewed a detailed presentation delivered by the Director of the Prime Minister's Office, who also heads the initiative's Steering Committee. The presentation outlined the implemented procedures, efforts undertaken, and completion rates for each governorate. It also included the necessary steps to accelerate the pace of work for this large-scale development project, which represents a unique experience of its kind in Iraq. Finally, Al-Zaidi urged the concerned ministries and governorates to expedite the completion of procedures and put the initiative into immediate effect, given its crucial importance in supporting broad and diverse segments of Iraqi society.
