Prime Minister Al-Zaidi to Lead High-Level Delegation to Washington Tomorrow
Government spokesperson Haider Al-Aboudi announced today, Sunday, that Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi will travel tomorrow to Washington, the U.S. capital, for an official visit leading a high-level delegation. Al-Aboudi stated in a press conference that the visit focuses on developing economic, developmental, and investment relations with the American side, alongside boosting trade and technology sectors. He added that the Prime Minister will meet with the U.S. President and officials from financial and economic institutions, to discuss enhancing joint opportunities and initiatives. He indicated that combating corruption is a positive sign for a secure environment for American companies wishing to operate in Iraq, noting that ministerial cabinet completion is linked to consensus. Al-Aboudi also clarified that the Strait of Hormuz crisis will be among the MOUs signed with the American side, alongside oil and gas files. He affirmed that American companies' work in Iraq aims to enhance power and mitigate crisis repercussions. He explained that the Iraq-U.S. relationship has shifted to a framework of strategic partnership and crisis management. He noted that confining weapons is an Iraqi decision, crucial for achieving internal stability and attracting foreign investments and companies to the country.
