Prime Minister Affirms Iraq's Full Sovereignty Over Its Sacred Lands by September 30

Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi announced on Monday that Iraqis will declare full sovereignty over their sacred lands by September 30. This declaration came during his patronage of a ceremony organized by the Sunni Endowment Office in Baghdad, marking the birth anniversary of the Great Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). His office stated that senior state officials, including the Presidents of the Republic, the Council of Representatives, and the Supreme Judicial Council, attended. In his speech, Al-Zaidi congratulated the Iraqi people and the entire Islamic nation on this occasion, highlighting its values of faith, goodness, and righteousness. He noted that the Noble Prophet embodied highest virtues and ethics in his blessed life. He emphasized that the occasion serves as a reminder for building a just state ensuring dignity and a decent life for citizens without discrimination. Al-Zaidi affirmed the government's commitment to establish a free, fully sovereign Iraq, guaranteeing respect, pride, and security for its people through cooperation in protecting the nation, its resources, and future generations. He mentioned the government's program outlines a clear approach for development, reform, combating corruption, and fostering a productive work environment. He stressed the government's dedication to building security institutions operating within the constitutional framework. Al-Zaidi thanked the Supreme Religious Authority and all religious institutions for their recommendations safeguarding Iraq's and its people's security. He underscored adherence to civil peace, social cohesion, and law enforcement, asserting Iraq will not be a platform to harm others. Reiterating his earlier statement, Al-Zaidi affirmed that Iraqis will declare full sovereignty over all Iraqi territories on September 30. He observed that the region faces continuous tensions, causing divisions in the policies and visions governing Islamic system countries. He concluded his address by stating: "We are in dire need to adhere to our Noble Prophet's methodology to achieve unity in stances and decisions that serve the goals and interests of our peoples."
