President Stresses Military Development to Strengthen Iraq's Security

President Nizar Amidi emphasized today, Sunday, the importance of developing the military institution and enhancing its capabilities to fulfill its duties in protecting Iraq and defending its security. This came during his reception of Defense Minister Naif Al-Shammari at the Peace Palace in Baghdad, where he stressed the need to continue developing the armed forces' military capabilities and consolidating the principles of discipline and efficiency to raise their readiness and improve performance. He pointed out that plans to develop the military institution should be based on an accurate assessment of current challenges, keeping pace with developments in military work methods to strengthen its ability to protect Iraq and defend its security, stability, and national interests. Meanwhile, the Defense Minister presented the ministry's priorities and plans for the upcoming phase, expressing appreciation for the President's support and interest in developing the military institution and consolidating its role in protecting the country and preserving its sovereignty.
