PM Al-Zaidi Stresses Rule of Law Reinforcement

Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi affirmed today, Wednesday, the government's ongoing commitment to strengthening the rule of law. This came during Al-Zaidi's meeting at dawn, Baghdad time, in the American capital Washington D.C., with several former United States Ambassadors to Iraq. The meeting, held by the head of government, delved into bilateral relations between Iraq and the United States and ways to enhance them across various sectors. Discussions also covered developments in Iraq and the region, alongside the importance of intensifying joint cooperation to serve the interests of both friendly countries and peoples. Al-Zaidi emphasized Iraq's aspiration to build balanced and sustainable relations with the United States, founded on mutual interests and reciprocal respect. He noted that the government is proceeding with the implementation of its program aimed at consolidating security and stability, reinforcing the rule of law, combating corruption, and supporting comprehensive development and economic reform pathways. Al-Zaidi also listened to the former ambassadors' insights regarding the future of Iraqi-American relations, drawing upon their extensive diplomatic experiences in Iraq. He stressed the importance of leveraging these experiences to foster understanding and broaden the horizons of cooperation between the two friendly nations.
