PM Al-Zaidi Affirms State's Resolve to Protect Iraq's Security
Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi affirmed on Tuesday that the state will not compromise on protecting Iraq's security and sovereignty. His media office stated that Al-Zaidi held a phone call with Kurdistan Regional Government Prime Minister Masrour Barzani to discuss attacks targeting several locations in the region. Al-Zaidi strongly condemned the drone attack on the KRG Prime Minister's private office and the residence of the Protection Agency (Parastin) director. He emphasized that these aggressions target Iraq's security and stability, and any harm to Kurdistan Region's security is an attack on Iraqi national security. The Prime Minister stressed the government's categorical rejection of any aggression targeting Iraqi territories, institutions, or citizens. He reaffirmed the state's resolve not to compromise on protecting Iraq's security and sovereignty, adding that competent authorities will investigate these attacks and prosecute those responsible under the law. For his part, the KRG Prime Minister expressed gratitude to Al-Zaidi for his call and follow-up. He emphasized the importance of continued coordination and cooperation between the federal and regional governments to enhance Iraq's security, stability, and citizen safety.
