PM Al-Zaidi Affirms Government's Commitment to Anti-Corruption, Arms Control, and Sovereignty

Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi affirmed the government's resolve to proceed with the project of confining weapons to the state, combating corruption, and enhancing Iraq's strength and sovereignty. His remarks came during his reception, today, of a group of tribal sheikhs and dignitaries who offered congratulations on the occasion of Eid al-Adha. Al-Zaidi expressed his deep pride in the esteemed Iraqi tribes, commending their role as a social umbrella that provides the state with distinguished competencies and leadership and administrative figures. He highlighted the government's keenness to support this social entity, which has consistently been a pillar for the Iraqi state's existence and a defender of it in various circumstances since its establishment. The Prime Minister stressed that among the government's priorities are not allowing violations of the rule of law, moving forward in combating corruption in all its forms, and strengthening Iraq's position and sovereignty at all levels. Al-Zaidi also affirmed the commitment to openness towards building robust regional and international relations that serve Iraq's supreme interests, noting that these principles align with the calls of the Supreme Religious Authority.
