Parliament Speaker Pledges Justice for Al-Dora Martyrs, Affirms Law Enforcement Against Perpetrators

Parliament Speaker Mohammed Al-Halbousi asserted on Thursday that those responsible for the killing of Brigadier Hisham Mohammed Talaa and Commissioner Abbas Lafta will face their rightful punishment under law. Al-Halbousi emphasized that targeting security personnel during their duty constitutes an assault on state authority, stressing the necessity of holding those responsible accountable. This assertion was made during his visit to the martyrs' families in the Al-Dora area, where Al-Halbousi extended his condolences and sympathy to the relatives of Brigadier Hisham Mohammed Talaa Al-Salman, Director of the Karkh Municipality Police Department, and Commissioner Khaled Abbas Lafta Al-Fawali. Both were martyred during their official duty in Al-Dora, executing an operation aimed at removing encroachments and enforcing the law. The Speaker explained that justice will take its course, and the perpetrators of this crime will not evade their merited punishment under the law. He called for a firm stance to confront such aggressions targeting state security and its institutions.
