Parliament Prepares to Host Oil Minister for Second Time
Iraq's Parliament is set to host the Oil Minister for a second time. MPs have gathered over 60 signatures to discuss issues whose previous answers failed to satisfy a number of legislators. MP Ahmed Al-Khazali stated in an official newspaper interview that the House of Representatives was unconvinced by the Minister's earlier responses. This prompted several MPs to collect signatures for his re-summoning, with the count now exceeding 60 and efforts ongoing for more. Al-Khazali explained the new session aims for direct questioning and clear answers on the debated files. He noted that the hearing's results and subsequent discussions will determine if these matters require further parliamentary action.
