National Security Advisor Denies Fixed Deadline for State Arms Monopoly

National Security Advisor Qassem al-Araji on Friday denied any fixed duration for the state to monopolize weapons. Al-Araji affirmed in a statement that recent social media reports circulating about setting a deadline for the arms restriction committee's work are "absolutely incorrect," emphasizing that no specific period exists for this process. He clarified that once the committee's work, formed by the Coordination Framework and directly supervised by the Prime Minister, is completed, and weapons are fully brought under state control, unauthorized arms holders will be treated as outlaws. Strict legal measures will then be taken against them, including treating them as terrorists. Al-Araji urged accuracy and obtaining information from official sources, steering clear of circulating rumors.
