MPs Demand Inclusion of Employee Promotions, Farmers' Dues in 2027 Budget
On Thursday, a number of parliamentary members formally demanded the inclusion of employee promotions and farmers' entitlements within the General Budget Law for 2027. The demands also encompassed the necessity of resolving the vote on the heads of independent bodies. A statement issued by the Parliament's Media Department indicated that several MPs underscored the importance of addressing the issue of employee promotions and allowances to ensure fairness, with the addition of their entitlements in the upcoming 2027 budget. The statement added that MPs emphasized equating farmers in Nineveh Governorate with their counterparts in other governorates regarding the delivery of 300 kilograms per dunam, in addition to expediting the disbursement of farmers' dues for the 2025 season. They also called for considering the requirements of all governorates according to their needs, stressing the importance of parliamentary approval for the heads of independent bodies and ending their provisional administration.
