MP Affirms: Legislative Recess No Obstacle to Cabinet Completion

Member of Parliament, Saqr Al-Mohammadawi, affirmed that the current legislative recess does not pose an impediment to holding parliamentary sessions aimed at completing the remaining cabinet formation. Al-Mohammadawi clarified that recent discussions among political blocs have focused on mechanisms to finalize the vacant ministerial portfolios, noting a clear consensus and genuine desire among political parties to conclude this matter, especially following the Eid holiday. He added that the Council of Representatives has the authority to convene extraordinary sessions or regular sessions during the legislative recess if public interest necessitates it, emphasizing that completing the government formation is a paramount national priority amidst current political and regional challenges. The MP underscored that flexibility in addressing the completion of state institutions is essential to safeguard the country's interests and finalize this file as quickly as possible. Al-Mohammadawi expressed hope that ongoing dialogues between political forces would lead to a final agreement on the remaining ministries, paving the way for their presentation to the Council of Representatives for a vote in the upcoming period.
