Ministry of Oil Boosts Gasoline Production to 40 Million Liters Daily to Meet Surging Demand

The Ministry of Oil has announced an increase in gasoline production to 40 million liters per day, a measure aimed at meeting the growing local demand for fuel.

In this context, Hussein Talib, Director General of the Ministry's Oil Products Distribution Company, explained that the company has taken proactive steps to secure strategic reserves of petroleum derivatives and gas. He noted that these measures are in line with the directives of the Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil, and are part of preparations for peak periods and increased fuel demand, especially during holidays and special occasions.

Talib affirmed that both enhanced and regular gasoline designated for local consumption are entirely produced domestically, emphasizing that the available quantities are sufficient to continuously meet the needs of the local market.

He added that the company observed a significant surge in fuel consumption during the Eid al-Adha holiday, resulting from increased family travel and movement. He highlighted that the company promptly provided additional quantities to cover this emergency need.

Finally, Talib stated that the Oil Products Distribution Company normally distributes approximately 33 million liters of gasoline daily. However, these quantities rose to 40 million liters per day over the past two days to ensure continuous supply to citizens and prevent any bottlenecks in fuel availability.
