Massive Protest in Rome Against Military Spending and Living Costs

The Italian capital, Rome, witnessed a large demonstration involving labor unions and students protesting against increased military spending and rising living costs. Protesters carried slogans demanding cuts to arms budgets, wage increases, and greater investment in the education sector. The march started from Termini Central Station heading towards the Imperial Forum and the Colosseum, with an estimated participation of around 20,000 people. Signs criticizing the policies of Giorgia Meloni's government were displayed amid tightened security measures around government buildings following clashes at a previous protest last Saturday. The protests spread to over 50 cities across Italy, coinciding with similar movements in France and Albania, where demonstrators call for improved education conditions, reduced costs, and job creation.
