Iraqi President Affirms Nation's Support for Lebanon's Security, Political, Economic Stability
Iraqi President Nizar Amedi received Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam and his delegation in the capital Saturday, affirming Iraq's support for Lebanon's security, political, and economic stability. The meeting focused on bilateral relations, emphasizing continued communication and expanded cooperation across political, economic, and cultural spheres, reviewing regional developments. President Amedi highlighted the current phase demands concerted efforts to address challenges, reaffirming Iraq's support for consolidating stability. He stressed advancing Iraqi-Lebanese relations towards effective partnerships, achieving mutual interests and fulfilling both nations' aspirations. Amedi reiterated Iraq's backing for Lebanon's security and political/economic stability to the Lebanese PM, stressing national consensus and strengthening state institutions to preserve its sovereignty and unity. The President addressed regional affairs, indicating the necessity of de-escalation and prioritizing dialogue/diplomacy for crisis resolution, safeguarding regional and international stability and peace. Nawaf Salam affirmed Lebanon views Iraq as a pivotal Arab partner; his government aims to expand this partnership to positively impact both countries' interests and translate shared will into practical projects. He expressed appreciation for Iraq's supportive stance in enhancing Lebanon's security and stability.
