Iraqi Foreign Ministry Welcomes Japan's Decision to Lower Travel Advisory for Nine Provinces
Iraq's Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday welcomed Japan's decision to lower its travel advisory level for nine Iraqi provinces. In a statement, the Ministry expressed appreciation for the Japanese government's decision to reduce the travel advisory to Level 3. This allows essential travel and residency for reconstruction and development efforts. The provinces benefiting from this decision are Babylon, Karbala, Najaf, Diwaniyah, Qadisiyah, Basra, Muthanna, Dhi Qar, and Maysan. The Ministry clarified this positive step marks a crucial development in Iraqi-Japanese relations, particularly in economic, investment, developmental, and cultural sectors. It also reflects Japan's keen interest in Iraq's field and security developments, and efforts to foster a more conducive environment for enhancing delegations, companies, investments, and international cooperation. The Ministry affirmed its commitment to continue communication with friendly and partner nations, working to review and update travel assessments and warnings, thereby bolstering Iraq's international openness.
