Iraqi Chargé d'Affaires: Baghdad Will Not Allow Its Territory to Harm Kuwaiti Security

The Iraqi Chargé d'Affaires to Kuwait, Ali Al-Taie, affirmed that his country has turned a new page and is committed to not allowing its territory or airspace to be used to harm the security of the State of Kuwait or any other Arab Gulf state. Al-Taie emphasized, in statements to the Kuwaiti newspaper "Al-Qabas", that the new Iraq adheres to the principles of good neighborliness and mutual respect for state sovereignty. The Iraqi diplomat clarified that Kuwait's security and stability are of paramount importance to Iraq, assuring the brotherly Kuwaiti people that relations between the two countries are built on solid foundations of respect and common interests. He pointed out that Baghdad has overcome a painful stage and moved towards building a future dominated by cooperation and mutual trust. Al-Taie also indicated that Iraq has made tangible progress in overcoming the repercussions of the past by building bridges of cooperation at political, economic, and popular levels, stressing that fostering trust is a continuous path that requires further communication and coordination. He noted the interconnectedness of regional security, making Kuwait's security an integral part of the region's overall security. In a related context, Al-Taie mentioned that joint files are currently being addressed, including the completion of maritime border demarcation to safeguard the interests of both parties, in addition to concluding the file of missing Kuwaitis, which the Iraqi government deals with from a purely humanitarian perspective.
