Iraqi Airways resumes flights to Iran
The General Company for Iraqi Airways announced on Thursday the resumption of its flights to the Islamic Republic of Iran, launching the first flight from Al-Najaf Al-Ashraf International Airport to Tehran Airport. The flight routes include regular daily flights departing from Al-Najaf Al-Ashraf International Airport to a number of Iranian airports, including Tehran, Mashhad, and Isfahan. The resumption of flights came through the efforts of the Prime Minister and the follow-up of the Minister of Transport, and after completing the necessary regulatory and technical requirements to ensure their operation. The return of flights aims to enhance the smooth movement of passengers and expand Iraq's regional air connectivity network, especially to serve religious, medical, and study travel purposes. The General Company for Iraqi Airways had suspended its flights to the Islamic Republic of Iran since the beginning of last March.
