Iranian Official Announces Over 3.3 Million Pilgrims Departed for Arbaeen Visit in Iraq
The head of Iran's Central Arbaeen Pilgrimage Committee, Ali Akbar Borjmeidian, announced that more than 3.33 million Iranian pilgrims have traveled to Iraq to participate in the Arbaeen ceremonies commemorating Imam Hussein (peace be upon him). Borjmeidian clarified, in press statements, that this number of Iranian pilgrims departed the country through its border crossings. He indicated that 2.3 million pilgrims from this total have returned to Iran so far, while approximately 1.03 million pilgrims remain in Iraqi territory. The official affirmed that services for Arbaeen pilgrims would continue through border crossings and along return routes, ensuring their safe return is completed.
