Head of Judicial Council affirms public interest is above all considerations
The President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Faiq Zaidan, emphasized that the judicial institution will remain the impregnable fortress of justice and the primary guarantee of rights, considering that the interest of the homeland and the Iraqi people takes precedence over any other consideration. These affirmations came on the occasion of the Iraqi National Day, as he extended his congratulations to the citizens, recalling the historical and civilizational heritage of the country that witnessed the inception of the earliest laws and societal organizations throughout the ages. He pointed out that this heritage represents a national responsibility requiring the building of a state that protects its constitution, safeguards public freedoms, and adopts justice as a fundamental pillar for stability. Amidst rapid developments and current challenges facing the national arena, he explained that the country is capable, through its solid institutions, independent judiciary, and national will, of protecting its present and shaping its future in accordance with the provisions of the constitution and the law.
