Government approves initiative to support and empower rural women

Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi issued an official directive on Thursday approving the adoption of the National Project Initiative for the Technical and Economic Empowerment of Rural Women. The Media Office of the Prime Minister stated in a statement that on the occasion of the International Day of Rural Women, which falls on October 15 of each year, and in harmony with the government ministerial curriculum, it was decided to adopt the initiative submitted by the Prime Minister advisor for women affairs. The statement added that the implementation of the project will take place extensively in the governorates of Dhi Qar, Wasit, and Maysan, and will then be generalized to the rest of the governorates. This aims to serve Iraqi women and enhance their societal, economic, and developmental roles, in addition to its contribution to developing the national economy, protecting the environment, and maximizing state resources.
