Foreign Ministry Iraq didn't indicate any targeting Saudi territory

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed today, Monday, that Iraq has not indicated any targeting of Saudi Arabia from its territory, while pointing to the firm position of the Republic of Iraq in respecting the security, safety, and sovereignty of states.

The ministry stated in a statement it received, that it "expresses its deep concern over what was circulated regarding facilities in the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia being targeted by three drones, emphasizing in this context the depth of the fraternal and historical relations uniting the two brotherly countries, Iraq's permanent eagerness to enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields, and the continuation of the firm position rejecting brotherly countries being subjected to any targeting."

It added that it "received preliminary information regarding a targeting of the Kingdom with three drones, and while it closely follows this information, it confirms that the competent authorities immediately began the necessary verification and investigation procedures to determine its circumstances."

It explained that "no information regarding it was indicated through Iraqi air defense systems and optical equipment," calling on the relevant authorities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to "cooperate and exchange relevant information, contributing to reaching accurate information that enhances security and stability in the two brotherly countries."

It stressed "the firm position of the Republic of Iraq in respecting the security, safety, and sovereignty of brotherly states, and its rejection of any actions that would undermine their stability or threaten their national security, and harm fraternal relations with brotherly countries."

It confirmed "its eagerness to continue coordination and consultation with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in a way that enhances security and stability in the region and serves the common interests of the two brotherly countries."
