Foreign Minister to Iranian counterpart Iraq looks forward hearing war end region stability

Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein discussed with the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Abbas Araghchi, the developments in the recent negotiations between Tehran and Washington, stressing that Iraq looks forward to hearing the end of the war and the return of stability to the region.


The media office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement received that "Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein received a phone call on Thursday evening from the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Abbas Araghchi, who renewed his congratulations to the Minister on the occasion of assuming the duties of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs once again."


It added that "during the call, the Iranian Minister briefed Minister Fuad Hussein on the latest developments regarding the ongoing negotiations, pointing out the progress made in the recent round, particularly regarding the new negotiating paper."


The statement continued: "The two sides also stressed the importance of the role played by Pakistan in this framework, praising its efforts supporting the success of the negotiating endeavors, along with pointing out the importance of the involvement of the State of Qatar at this stage."


For his part, Fuad Hussein, according to the statement, expressed his thanks to his Iranian counterpart for the call and for briefing him on the updates of the negotiating process, confirming his happiness with the positive developments witnessed in the negotiating path.


Fuad Hussein praised the great efforts exerted by Minister Abbas Araghchi in order to push the negotiating process forward, stressing the need to end military operations as soon as possible in the Strait of Hormuz, and work to lift the blockade on Iran.


At the conclusion of the call, Fuad Hussein expressed Iraq's aspiration to hear positive news that leads to ending the war and the return of stability and normal life to the peoples of the region, renewing his thanks to his Iranian counterpart for communicating and briefing him on the results of the negotiations.
