Five-Year Imprisonment Sentence for Yazan Mishaan Al-Jubouri Convicted of Fraud and Embezzling IQD 41 Billion

The Central Anti-Corruption Criminal Court has issued a five-year severe imprisonment verdict against Yazan Mishaan Rakkad Al-Jubouri. This judgment follows his conviction on charges of fraud and the embezzlement of a substantial sum of money, through false claims of exploiting influence and asserting his ability to arrange a meeting with the Prime Minister and provide facilities to the plaintiff. According to a responsible oversight body, the court reached sufficient conviction after reviewing the evidence in the case. Investigations revealed that in 2024, the convict misled the plaintiff by falsely claiming to be an advisor to the Prime Minister, promising to arrange a meeting and provide facilities. Al-Jubouri exploited this deception to instruct an absconding defendant, who managed one of the plaintiff's companies, to withdraw 41 billion Iraqi Dinars and deliver it to him through fraudulent methods. The court based its ruling on Article (456) of the Penal Code, affirming the application of the law.
