 International reports revealed a new strategic direction for Beijing aimed at fortifying its economy against external shocks, driven by the repercussions of the war in Iran and US pressures. According to The Telegraph, China is accelerating the construction of a comprehensive "energy shield" by increasing solar power production by 275% and wind power by 146%. Although China imports 80% of its oil needs, President Xi Jinping is pushing for enhanced domestic production of shale gas and offshore oil to reduce reliance on threatened maritime straits in 2026.
